Doubt invites us to take our faith seriously, negotiate what we believe, understand why we believe it, and push ourselves to learn how it fits into our lives or understand how our lives need to change.  

The lives of Basil the Great and Nerses the Great are worth putting next to one another. Why did both men come to be remembered as “the Great”?

Who taught you about Jesus? Who taught you the gospel? What would have happened if the message of the gospel had stopped with them? What if they had never passed it on to you?

How can we uphold the standards for our lives outlined in Scripture without inducing guilt when people fall short, fostering  an atmosphere of fear, or pressuring individuals to please the people in their church community?
